The Data & Analytics team supports and enhances the firm’s data integration, reporting, analytics and performance management systems.  The team is composed of Data Specialists, Subject Matter Experts and other technical staff as required.

As a member of the team the Data Engineer is responsible for supporting existing data integrations across the firm’s data platforms, including MS SQL Server and AWS, with tools such as Lambda, C#, JavaScript and SQL.  A specific focus for this role is to support and drive development of the data platform using the firm’s existing integration tools within AWS and C#, while investigating new tools to assist in the growth.

The role requires exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to adapt and work flexibly to achieve the requirements of the Data and Analytics team.

In addition to integration development the role offers the ability to develop skills in the areas of data warehousing, pipeline development for analytics and integration with robotic process automation (RPA) processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and develop AWS serverless applications and other data pipelines.
  • Standardise tool-set, update integration applications that do not meet the standard.
  • Remove dependencies on ‘non production’ and end of life hardware.  Redevelop or move integrations to supported platforms.
  • Follow change management and documentation procedures for the deployment and maintenance of systems.
  • Documenting deployments, integrations, workflows and processes used to maintain applications and systems.
  • Contribute to Business Case development to define data integration and movement requirements.
  • Create and maintain the implementation of optimal data pipelines from a wide variety of internal and external sources into a cloud environment. Define requirements for data operation for all applications.
  • Creation of data pipelines and scripts for Analytics, Business Intelligence and Data teams to assist in building highly optimised data solutions.  Build integrated data environments (People, Client…) for use by business analysts and analytics teams.
  • Assist process automation team to improve data processes through integration with RPA and process automation capabilities.

Qualifications and preferred experience

  • Solid technical skills are essential with Information Technology related qualifications such as a BS in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent practical experience) required.
  • Strong data integration skills, including AWS serverless, Lambda, Athena, Cloud Formation and C# required.
  • Exposure to REST, JavaScript, OData and API developments desirable.
  • Exposure to modern data environment such as AWS S3, Amazon Redshift and AWS Glue desirable
  • Exposure to MS SQL or other database technologies desirable.
  • Exposure to data governance methodology and tools desirable.
  • Previous experience with the design and implementation of technology solutions to support data pipelines for integration and data preparation for analytics.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong client focus and customer service ethic.
