We are looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team. We are looking for strong analytical, attention to detail and problem solving skills and an interest in client service within a professional services environment.
The Finance Analyst is responsible for delivering financial reporting and analysis, and providing support across the Financial Planning & Analysis team. The role requires exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to adapt and work flexibly to achieve the requirements of the Financial Planning & Analysis team.

Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning, in this role you will be responsible for:
- Preparation and delivery of standard monthly financial reporting for external and internal clients including client revenue and profitability reporting, and divisional performance reporting.
- Preparation of high quality analysis to identify factors (internal and external) impacting firm performance including variance analysis and report writing.
- Administration and reconciliation of legal capacity and business services people data in Jedox.
- Assist in meeting the requirements of the Financial Planning & Analysis team in areas including performance monitoring, working capital management and reporting.
- Assisting in the completion of the annual firm budget including supporting analysis.
- Assisting in the completion of periodic and ad hoc forecasts including supporting analysis.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase productivity and/or improve the quality of information provided, particularly in the areas of financial reporting.
- Preparation of legal industry benchmarking reports and survey data.
- Assist in the delivery of projects and preparation of ad hoc reports and analysis as required by the Financial Planning & Analysis team.
Required qualifications and preferred experience
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant disciplines including Accounting and Finance are essential
- Seeking to commence or completing study towards an Australian accounting body, CAANZ or CPA
- Advanced excel skills
Preferred experience includes the following:
- 1-3 years experience
- Experience in budgeting and forecasting
- Previous experience as a finance or commercial analyst
- Experienced in CMS or similar large scale General Ledger system
- Understanding of the operation of a professional services organisation
