The role is to support the National Security and Risk Manager in overseeing and managing the daily operations of the security activities within the organisation. Covering vulnerability management, threat management, incident response management, disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.

The position requires the execution of security procedures covering Corrs’ information systems, and the ongoing management of processes to ensure compliance and to continue to increase our security capabilities. This includes meeting our security KPIs and ongoing reporting to multiple internal stakeholders and an Audit Risk Committee.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations such as monitoring, IR management, vulnerability management, threat analysis, and investigations. Ensure smooth and effective operations while following policies and regulations.
  • Manage changes associated with systems, networks and cloud services to ensure security controls are not compromised.
  • Monitor threat intelligence and other security advisory services and prepare recommendations for Technology management on potential exposure and courses of action.
  • Engage external parties to conduct multiple types of penetration testing of Corrs’ Systems, Networks and Cloud Services.
  • Responsible for preparing the team to detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents. They coordinate incident response plans, provide guidance, and minimise the impact of security breaches.
  • Maintain Corrs’ disaster recovery and incident response plans.
  • Ensure testing of DR/IR plans is carried out on a regular basis to assess readiness.
  • Managing our “SOC” and all related tools, solutions and processes.
  • Maintaining threat mapping, playbooks and building threat intelligence sources.
  • Perform detailed investigations including threat hunting and intrusion analysis and ensure SLA performance is met and delivered.
  • Security Incident Management including improvements such as automation to gain efficiencies, reduce errors, and increase the capacity of an enterprise incident response program.
  • Operate and manage our third-party Security service providers to enhance the firm’s “SOC” 24/7 capabilities.

Required qualifications and preferred experience

  • A tertiary qualification in IT or business related discipline. 
  • An understanding of contemporary security and Incident Response issues in a medium to large corporate environment.
  • An understanding of relevant security standards such ISO27001, ACSC 8 and  aspect of the privacy act.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
