The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for the successful completion of Corrs projects that assist in the delivery of the firm’s strategy and organisation goals and objectives. These projects vary in size, complexity and cost.

The SPM reports to the Head of Portfolio Delivery (HPD) and will work closely with the Project Delivery team to understand the scope and required delivery times of projects. The SPM will also develop relationships with the business stakeholders around each project to help implement the business change required to make each project a success.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and be able to deliver both technical and business related projects with a key focus on ensuring client satisfaction. 

Key responsibilities

  • Work with technology and business staff to help define and deliver each project.
  • Establish and manage effective project operations to deliver quality outcomes following the Corrs Project Management Methodology.
  • Prepare key project documentation eg RFP, Business Case, Board paper.
  • Define and setup each project using the determining project time, cost and quality expectations with stakeholders at project initiation.
  • Monitor critical path dates and dependencies for each project so specified completion dates are achieved.
  • Lead and manage multiple project teams across geographically dispersed locations operating on Technology projects in a multi-platform technical environment.
  • Work with and manage vendors to deliver quality outcomes.
  • Lead, manage and mentor individuals in the project teams tasked with the delivery of projects and project tasks.
  • Maintain required project files including project plans, status reports and steering committee updates.
  • Ensure any delays or issues likely to impact project delivery times are escalated as appropriate. Work with relevant stakeholders to communicate, educate and embed changes in systems, processes and behaviour.

Required skills and experience

  • End-to-end project management of medium to large scale projects in a complex environment with both a business and technology focus.
  • Sound understanding and consistent application of project management competencies including scope, time, cost and quality.
  • Strong understanding of technology infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of business drivers for projects and experience managing change in business through project delivery.
  • Experience in preparing business cases, and project concept documentation including costs.
  • Experience in co-ordinating resources in a project environment.
  • Experience negotiating commercial and legal terms and a solid understanding of business drivers for contracts and agreements.
  • Relevant industry certification, such as Agile, PMBOK or Prince II, is desirable.
  • Experience in organisational change – managing stakeholders and communications in order to implement and embed changes in systems, processes and behaviours.
