An opportunity now exists for a Business Development Manager to join our Business Development team.

We are looking for an energetic, proactive and collaborative individual to contribute to the growth trajectory of our national Environment & Planning and Responsible Business and ESG practice groups.

Working with senior leaders and Partners, the BDM will be expected to influence the direction and focus of the Practice Groups and their priority clients, identify and flexibly respond to changes in priorities and align support/resources to ensure effective execution of initiatives.

This role is expected to contribute to growing the firm’s market share and profile, client retention and development by:

  • identification and development of opportunities to drive revenue growth across the practice groups;
  • working with a Key Client and agreed practice group client teams to identify and pursue growth opportunities;
  • identifying and prioritising opportunities at a practice, client and market level and working with the PGLs to develop and implement pursuit strategies, including profiling initiatives where required;
  • ‘joining the dots’ within and across the practices, clients and firm to ensure that the firm is best positioned to pursue clients and opportunities in a collaborative fashion;
  • bringing insight on clients to partners on revenue generation and relationship development (this requires a deep understanding of the client, their industry, their competitors and the firm);
  • coaching and preparing partners to pursue key opportunities, pitches and beauty parades, including clear articulation of the value proposition;
  • successful management of strategic bids and tenders ensuring strong pre-positioning disciplines;
  • championing and demonstrating key behaviours of collaboration and proactivity in a high quality output environment; and

This position will work closely with the Practice Group Leader, partners and clients.

Required skills and experience:

  • Marketing degree or relevant business qualification.
  • Marketing experience, professional services an advantage.
  • Strong proprietary attitude; customer focus and service attitude, demonstrated drive and initiative, ability to manage multiple tasks/projects, a continual improvement mindset
  • Project management skills
  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Tender drafting and management skills
