An opportunity exists for a Finance Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This is a permanent role which can be based in either Sydney or Melbourne.

This role will contribute towards the quality of the firm’s financial planning and analysis process for delivering financial and client reporting across the business. Supporting the FP&A Manager with financial and client related reporting, this role is also responsible for providing efficient and accurate support on a wide range of quality control, problem solving, analysis & reporting functions within the FP&A team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and delivery of standard monthly financial reporting for external and internal stakeholders and clients, including client revenue and profitability reporting, and departmental performance reporting.
  • Assist in the delivery of projects and preparation of ad hoc reports and analysis as required by the Financial Planning & Analysis team.
  • Assist in meeting the requirements of the Financial Planning & Analysis team in areas including performance monitoring, working capital management and reporting.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase productivity and/or improve the quality of information provided, particularly in the areas of financial reporting.
  • Upskilling and training Legal Support staff on all financial related matters including reporting as necessary.
  • Assisting with client audit requests as required.
  • Assisting with the completion of the annual budget and quarterly forecasting process as and when required.

Required skills and experience:

  • At least 2 years' experience gained in a similar role within a legal or time-billing based professional services environment.
  • Experience with CMS/Aderant or other large scale General Ledger system.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated drive and initiative.
  • An ability to work well under pressure and prioritise tasks to be able to meet deadlines.
  • Confidence working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, with a professional and responsive approach to stakeholder management.
