The Melbourne Banking & Finance team are seeking a paralegal to assist with settlements, pre-sale reviews and document preparation.

We are seeking a candidate who may have basic property-related experience in a law firm or conveyancing company, or a candidate that has secretarial experience, seeking a career as a paralegal in a busy, fast-paced environment.  This position would be suitable for someone who has just finished or is finishing a TAFE diploma in Legal or Business Administration.

Key responsibilities

  • Obtaining Title, ASIC & PPSR searches;
  • Preparing documentation for settlements;
  • Preparation and review of PPSR releases;
  • Drafting loan documents and other legal documents;
  • Opening and maintaining PEXA work spaces;
  • Assisting with Trust settlements;
  • Assisting with pre-sale reviews;
  • Attendance with paper settlements (external) if and when required;
  • Preparation of internal and external correspondence;
  • Assisting with preparation of fee estimates;
  • Maintaining client securities;
  • File management including invoicing and filing;
  • Undertake general administrative tasks.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • At least 12 months property related or legal administration experience in a law firm or conveyancing company
  • Self motivated and deadline driven with problem solving, communication and organisational skills;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Outlook, Word and Excel (formulas and organisation).
  • A proactive, positive and energetic attitude.
