We have a rare opportunity for an emerging Human Resources professional to join our People & Performance team.  This role has a focus on leading and co-ordinating local early career programs within the context of the national strategy, and providing pragmatic advice and solutions to people leaders in legal and business services groups.

While professional services experience would be an advantage, a pragmatic approach to people leadership and a focus on the experience of our people will help you succeed in this role.  Our firm values excellence, collaboration, commitment and respect in the way we work.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage local early career initiatives and programs, including clerkship and graduate recruitment and delivery of the graduate development program;
  • Provide fit-for-purpose advice and solutions to people leaders and employees in legal and business services groups;
  • Coach people leaders on effective people leadership and management practices;
  • Anticipate and support change across the business, be involved in projects and lead business improvement initiatives.

Required skills and personal attributes

  • Knowledge and application of the workplace regulatory framework, contemporary people practices and strategies that support business success;
  • Demonstrated experience (ideally) within a professional services or white collar environment;
  • Empathy, curiosity, problem solving, judgement and confidence to bring forward suggestions for improvement;
  • Excellent personal presentation and organisational skills, effective administrative ability.
